Tell us about yourself.

I had a great mentor who encouraged me to apply for Change Management roles when I moved to Canada nearly 17 years ago. In February 2003 I was fortunate to join Providence Health Care as part of the Change Initiatives team and have continued to work in a change capacity since then.

Why did you decide to join ACMP Vancouver and volunteer on a committee?

I had been so work-focused it was time to focus on meeting other change professionals outside of my areas of work – ACMP Vancouver is a great way to do that. I decided to volunteer as I think it is important to ‘give back’ to a group that you are also ‘taking’ from

What are you working on (in work or on the committee)?

I’m excited to be part of the ‘new/intermediate’ member committee. I have been fortunate to have several great mentors during my career who helped me learn and grow and I would like to create opportunities for learning and growth for other practitioners.

Do you have any recommended change management books / resources to share?

If you haven’t already done so take a look at David Rock’s SCARF: A Brain-Based Model for Collaborating with and Influencing Others

How do you like to spend your time outside of work?

I love walking in the forest, with my dog and sometimes my kids. It may be less peaceful when they come along but I find being in the forest in the fresh air rejuvenates me and helps keep life in perspective.
