What We Heard: Insights from Our 2026 Member Engagement Survey
Thank you to everyone who took the time to participate in our recent 2026 Member Engagement Survey. The purpose of the survey was to better understand what our members value most, what is working well, and where we can focus our efforts to create an even stronger Chapter experience.
We received responses from 16% of our membership. While the response rate was lower than we had hoped, it nonetheless represents a meaningful cross-section of our community and provides valuable insight into the needs, experiences, and priorities of our members.
Who Responded
The survey responses reflected the diversity and depth of expertise within our Chapter.
We heard from members representing a wide range of sectors, including: healthcare, education, consulting, finance and retail, public sector, mining, and legal services.
Respondents included dedicated change practitioners, consultants, leaders with change responsibilities, project professionals, and members at various stages of their change management careers. Many respondents reported having more than 10 years of experience in the profession, and certifications represented included CCMP, Prosci, and other recognized change management credentials.
What Members Value Most
A clear message emerged throughout the survey: connection matters.
Members consistently highlighted the importance of:
- Networking with fellow change practitioners
- Learning from the experiences of peers
- Sharing knowledge, challenges, and best practices
- Professional development opportunities and speaker events
- Building a strong sense of community within the profession
Several members specifically identified networking and peer-to-peer learning as the most valuable aspect of their membership. Others praised the Chapter newsletter as a trusted source of information and professional connection. The mentoring program also received particularly positive feedback, with one member describing it as simply “AMAZING.”
What’s Working Well
Members shared positive feedback about many of the Chapter’s existing offerings, particularly those that foster learning and connection.
Among the most appreciated activities were:
- Networking events and opportunities to meet peers

It’s encouraging to hear that members see the Chapter as both a professional development resource and a place to build meaningful relationships within the change management community.
Barriers to Participation
While members value the Chapter and its programming, some common challenges were identified.
The most frequently mentioned barriers included:
- Busy work schedules and competing priorities
- Event timing that does not always align with availability
- Travel and location considerations
- Limited awareness of upcoming events and opportunities
- Preferences for different formats, including virtual and hybrid options
The feedback suggests that many members would participate more often if events were easier to access or if communications about upcoming opportunities were more visible and timely.

Looking ahead, members shared a number of ideas about how the Chapter can continue to evolve and deliver value.
Key themes included:
- More networking opportunities and informal member meetups

Members expressed a strong interest in content that combines thought leadership with practical, real-world application.

What this Means for the Board
The survey results provide valuable guidance as the Board plans for the coming year.
Members have asked us to continue focusing on:
- High-quality professional development opportunities
- Meaningful networking and community-building events

Most importantly, the feedback reinforces the importance of creating spaces where members can learn from one another, share experiences, and strengthen their professional networks.
Looking Ahead
We are grateful to everyone who shared their perspectives. Your feedback will directly inform Chapter planning, programming, communications, and Board priorities in the year ahead. While no single survey can capture every viewpoint, the responses provide a clear picture of what our members value most: learning, connection, community, and professional growth. Thank you for helping shape the future of our Chapter. We look forward to continuing to build a vibrant, connected, and supportive community for change management professionals.
