“It has been an interesting and exciting career change to move into Change Management from Recruitment,” says Jeanne Towe, Change Management Advisor at BC Hydro.
Tell us about yourself.
I graduated from SFU Business with a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management & Marketing, and spent the last seven years in Recruitment at pwc and BC Hydro with a focus on high-volume campus recruitment. I was fortunate to make the move into the Enterprise Change Management team this past December.
How has the transition been from one career path to another?
I was initially quite nervous about the change in career direction, but I’ve realized certain skills from recruitment are very transferable to change management (e.g. communication, stakeholder engagement, research, and planning). Everyone on the team has also been very supportive while I learn. I’m looking forward to developing my change management career and getting to know the ACMP Vancouver Chapter!
