To fill the open 2019/2020 Board positions, the Board of Directors appointed a Nominating Committee to identify qualified and interested candidates. Through newsletter, email and conversation, the committee sought candidates that we feel will serve our members well during the two-year term. These candidates will be presented for confirmation at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) on November 7th, 2019.

Grace McKeown

I began my journey in change management in 2000 as part of a newly formed team at Fraser Health Authority. The team supported senior leaders in implementing change in a complex environment applying strategy consulting and an integrated project management and change management approach. I was Prosci certified in 2012 and achieved my CCMP in 2017. I am currently an independent consultant and continue to work with clients in developing and implementing change initiatives.

I am interested in running for the President position as I believe that my 1.5 years of experience as Treasurer has provided me with the understanding and experience required to lead our Chapter. The Board has recognized the importance of continuity as a key factor in a sustainable chapter and I believe I can bring that stability in the transition of this role.

During my time on the Board I have held the responsibilities of the Treasurer role (i.e. financial transactions) and also have supported a variety of Chapter events. Over the past year I have lead the new and intermediate segment activities that included a network social and also introduced “virtual” change chats. During my employment with Fraser Health, I was a member of the steering committee for a HealthCare Communities of Practice. I also participated in the UBC Sauder School of Business Advisory Group supporting the development of the Change Management certificate program.

I currently lead the Change Advisory and Recognition teams in People + Culture at Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH). My team supports building change capabilities and providing change advisory and support to large scale initiatives contributing to the transformation of health care delivery for exceptional care and making a great workplace.

My change management experience spans from business transformation, ECM strategy, technology programs, culture projects with teams to strategic HR program redesign. I am PROSCI certified, and hold an MBA in Strategic Consulting from Sauder School of Business at UBC and a BBA from Simon Fraser University. Prior to joining VCH, I worked for Kodak Graphic Communications and Creo.

My passion is mentoring and coaching, and I dedicate time to improve practices of change management through hosting workshops, 1:1 consultations, and contribute to communities of practice in change and recognition.

I have over ten years experience in change management and have led several large-scale, multi-stakeholder initiatives including two major reorganizations for one of the fastest growing health authorities in BC, and was change lead preparing BC Cancer for the largest change in its history – moving from a paper-based to an electronic health record. I endeavor to build change management capacity with the project teams I support through training, workshops and coaching.

I am interested in supporting ACMP Vancouver because I believe in developing and advancing the profession of change management. And as a Chartered Professional Accountant, I also understand the role the Treasurer can play to help our Chapter thrive.

I joined ACMP in 2018, since than I’ve participated in several events including webinars, socials and other learning events. I currently volunteer with the Advanced Practice Committee.

I have been involved in a number of change management roles over several years. Most recently, in my company, Project Rescuers, I help organizations get projects back on track using my 4-step process to diagnose the root cause, develop an intervention plan using change management tools and process, test the solution and implement the new way forward enterprise-wide. I have implemented change management solutions in industries such as healthcare and tech as well as Indigenous-focused organizations.

I believe change management is an integral component to introducing change into organizations. I enjoy being part of the promotion of change management activities at the organizational level and helping to shape the delivery of the change management focused activities for members of the Vancouver chapter.

I was on the board in the Victoria ACMP chapter and enjoyed helping develop a community of practice to promote the profession accomplished through activities such as setting up events, meeting other change practitioners and enhancing skill and knowledge in the area of change management. I have also established the Victoria-Vancouver satellite change management group in Victoria which is growing.
