Tell us about yourself

I’m an innovative and agile Change Management consultant, entrepreneur and mother of two. My husband and I are managing partners of a boutique change management consulting firm called Pragilis, where we work with large organizations to help them embrace and adopt change. Because in today’s world, change is the only constant, and change agility offers a strategic and competitive advantage. I love being a business owner, because it allows me to work my own schedule, work where I like and on change initiatives that I am passionate about.

How did you get into Change Management?
I grew into Change Management through my work within a training organization in a post-secondary environment. I worked on a large-scale and complex ERP implementation project, and due to the success I achieved in my training role, I was asked to formally lead the change management for a specific workstream within the project. Through coaching and mentorship with the implementation partner at the time, I managed the change impacts related to my workstream and delivered a successful change management, communications and training program. I knew from there that Change Management was the area I wanted to specialize in.

What are you working on?
My goal this year is to grow Pragilis into a leading boutique change management consulting firm. I’m currently providing consulting services to a client in Vancouver, leading the Change Management for a records and information management program, an HRIS implementation project and the rollout of a strategic plan for their Sustainability department. I’m also working towards my CMC designation and preparing to present at the Project World and BA World conference in Vancouver in October.
Do you have any recommended change management books / resources to share?
I’m reading Jim Collins’ Good to Great right now, so I can further develop my skills as leader and inform the leadership coaching I do in my practice. I also recommend classics such as, Our Iceberg is Melting, by John Kotter and The 7 Habits of Highly Successful People by Stephen Covey. Lean In by Sheryl Sandberg and The Trusted Advisor by David Maister, are my go-to resources for my consulting practice.
How do you like to spend your time outside of work?
I keep my heart and mind active through Zumba and Zen meditation. I’m still relatively new to Vancouver, so I’m constantly discovering new places to eat, play and relax with my family. My family loves being outdoors – whether it’s biking, hiking or camping – and are grateful to be able to live and work in Vancouver.
