On October 25, 2016, ACMP member Heather Lehmann hosted and led the ACMP Vancouver Coffee Chat at the College of Registered Nurses of BC.
A small group of change management practitioners met to discuss the ins and outs of stakeholder engagement – what it is, how to do it and the links between stakeholder engagement, communication and stakeholder analysis.
Participants also talked about some of the key principles for engaging stakeholders including how to choose who to involve and how to set appropriate expectations about the stakeholder engagement process and outcomes both with sponsors and with stakeholders.
The group shared their insights around things to consider when engaging internal vs external stakeholders and the timing of when engagement makes the most sense. One participant described the event as “a valuable exchange of ideas and experience on the topic of stakeholder engagement and beyond”.
