A little bit more about the roles on the Board of Directors.

At the core of it, the ACMP Vancouver Board of Directors is a working Board. Without the work that Board members do, there wouldn’t be a chapter. Not only are we accountable for the due diligence of the organization, but we have to get stuff done!

In the year ahead, we have a few priorities:
  • Strengthen and build our membership
  • Introduce a new type of event – in addition to the speaker series, coffee chats and socials
  • Partner with other organizations as it makes sense
  • Strengthen our volunteer base
  • Support skill development – for new and experienced practitioners

Generally speaking, Board members need to:
  • Commit 10 hours of work per month for a two-year term
  • Attend a monthly Board meeting in person
  • Represent ACMP Vancouver at chapter and other events
  • Lead an area of accountability for the chapter – developing an annual plan, producing the related deliverables and reporting on progress to the Board

To achieve this, we are looking for some specific skills:
  • Energy & enthusiasm
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Experience with project management 
  • Comfort with numbers
  • Relationship skills and networks 
  • A je ne sais quoi that people want to be around
